NFL Week 4 Recap & Week 5 Preview: Heartbreak & Heavyweights

🏈 NFL Week 4 Recap & Week 5 Preview: Heartbreak & Heavyweights

Week 4 is in the books, and it brought us a little bit of everything — heartbreakers that sting (sorry, Raiders fans) and heavyweights flexing their muscles (hello, Chiefs and Lions). From gritty wins to gut-punch losses, my teams gave us plenty to talk about. If you want to check back on last week, NFL Week 3 Recap & Week 4 Preview: Controversy Free! . K. Now let’s get to this week’s NFL Week 4 Recap & Week 5 Preview.

Vikings @ Steelers

It wasn’t pretty, but it didn’t need to be. Pittsburgh leaned on defense, forced mistakes, and eked out a 3-point win. The offense still feels like it’s searching, but the Steelers know how to grind. This game was not without it’s stressful moments, but it made my heart happy to see Rogers own his position. Who said this guy should retire? Ravens @ Chiefs

Ravens @ Chiefs

Arrowhead was rocking, and Mahomes delivered. KC’s offense looked sharp, mixing in big plays and efficient drives, while the defense bottled up Lamar when it mattered most. The early-season stumble? Looks like a blip. Chiefs are back. About Lamar Jackson, I feel like between this game and the game last week, he has been sacked, a. lot. Probably too much. At some point you must start to get a little leary.

Browns @ Lions

Detroit owned this game. The Lions dominated the line of scrimmage and rolled to a two-score win, punctuated by a pair of unanswered touchdowns late. If anyone doubted their contender status, this should quiet the noise.

Bears @ Raiders

A gut punch in Vegas. The Raiders fell 25–24 in a game they had every chance to win. Close losses sting the most, and this one’s going to hang around for a while. I am probably unreasonably sad about this result, but I was hoping for better. Wonder if this has anything to do with bad Kermit voodoo from last year.

Commanders @ Falcons

The Commanders couldn’t quite keep up with Atlanta’s pace, falling 34–27. Washington showed flashes, but the inconsistency continues. It’s the kind of loss that leaves fans shaking their heads.

✨ That’s the Week 3 recap — bounce-backs, heartbreakers, and just enough surprises to keep us all guessing.

🔮 NFL Week 5 Preview: What to Watch

✨ That’s the Week 4 recap — statement wins, heartbreak losses, and plenty of “what ifs” for my teams.. NFL 2025 – WEEK 5 Schedule | NFL.com

Chiefs @ Jaguars

Kansas City heads to Jacksonville for Monday Night Football. After their Arrowhead statement against the Ravens, the Chiefs are building steam. The Jags are feisty, but Mahomes in prime time is tough to bet against.

Lions @ Bengals

Detroit’s momentum meets Cincinnati’s desperate need for a win. The Bengals are no match for the Lions if they don’t have Burrow.

Buccaneers @ Seahawks

Can we expect to see trash talking and Baker Mayfield continue to do great things? I’d put money on it.

Commanders @ Chargers

Washington needs to prove it can win on the road against a high-octane offense. Daniels has to stay poised, and the Commanders’ pass rush has to get home early. And as much as I want to cheer for the Commanders, I do quite like what the Chargers are doing this year!

Raiders @ Colts

The Raiders can’t afford another heartbreak, and neither can I really. This is a test of execution: limit mistakes, play clean, and lean into the crowd’s energy to get back on track.

✨ That’s the Week 5 preview — five games, five storylines, and all eyes on my squads.

🎯 Evie’s Picks – Week 5

Raiders @ Colts → …Raiders.

Chiefs @ Jaguars (MNF) → …Chiefs

✨ Final Thoughts

Week 4 lived up to the theme: heartbreak and heavyweights. The Chiefs steadied themselves at Arrowhead, the Lions proved they belong in the contender conversation, and the Steelers showed once again they can win ugly. On the other side, the Commanders struggled to keep pace and the Raiders let one slip through their fingers. It’s a reminder that in the NFL, margins are razor thin — and momentum can flip in an instant.
