NFL Week 3 Recap & Week 4 Preview: Controversy Free!

🏈 NFL Week 3 Recap & Week 4 Preview: Controversy Free!

The league and the NFLverse at large may still be talking about the tush push, but we’re not. I’ve said what I said, and that chapter is closed. Week 3 was about the games themselves — bounce-backs, upsets, bounce back upsets, heartbreakers, and a few surprises nobody saw coming. From the Chiefs steadying the ship to the Lions proving themselves in Baltimore, the Steelers grinding out a win, and the Commanders and Raiders heading in opposite directions, here’s how it all shook out — and what’s ahead in Week 4. If you’re just tuning in, this is what we had to say about the NFL last week, NFL Week 2 Recap & Week 3 Preview: Plus Tush Push . So let’s focus: NFL Week 2 Recap & Week 3 Preview.

Chiefs vs. Giants

The Chiefs finally snapped their skid with a 22-9 win at MetLife. Despite a messy first half full of penalties and missed chances, Kansas City locked down in the second half. Patrick Mahomes threw for 224 yards and a touchdown, and the defense forced two key interceptions to seal the deal. Arrowhead Pride

The Giants, meanwhile, couldn’t convert on critical downs, looked even worse than the Chiefs, in what the announcer called Bizarroland, and their offense never caught up. Their 0-3 start is looking heavy. Arrowhead Pride+1

Lions vs. Ravens

I am watching this game as I’m wrting this, and Detroit just took the lead, and things are heating up. After trading blows through the first three quarters, the Lions managed an unanswered touchdown that sealed the Win. The defense is coming through — stuffing Baltimore on goal-line attempts and forcing key turnovers. Offensively, Jared Goff has been sharp especially in the short-to-intermediate routes, and Jahmyr Gibbs is proving to be a matchup problem out of the backfield.

Steelers vs. Patriots

Pittsburgh held tough, 21-14 at Foxborough. Brandin Echols and Nick Herbig stood out, hitting hard when it mattered. Rodgers threw two TDs, including a game-winner, though a couple of interceptions reminded us he’s human. Behind the Steel Curtain

Commanders vs. Raiders

Not the outcome I expected. Commanders looked off in spots; Raiders showed some spark but couldn’t close. Washington needed more than flashes. I was really routing for the Raiders here. They’ve taken on this underdog feel that I just can’t help but cheer for.

Bills vs. Dolphins

Bills are 3-0 and look dangerous. Josh Allen continues to pile up milestones, James Cook is running strong, and Buffalo’s gotten used to winning in style. Miami fought, but couldn’t quite match up late. Buffalo Rumblings+1

✨ That’s the Week 3 recap — bounce-backs, heartbreakers, and just enough surprises to keep us all guessing.

🔮 NFL Week 4 Preview: What to Watch

👉 Now it’s on to Week 4 — a chance for contenders to prove they’re the real deal, and for the rest to show they’re not out of the fight just yet. NFL 2025 – WEEK 4 Schedule | NFL.com

Ravens @ Chiefs

Arrowhead gives KC the edge, but Baltimore’s defense will make them earn every yard. If the Chiefs start fast (instead of playing rope-a-dope until the 4th), this feels like a statement win. Mahomes’ patience vs. the Ravens’ disguised pressures is the chess match to watch.

Browns @ Lions

Perfect “prove-it” spot for Detroit. Cleveland’s front is nasty, so this comes down to the Lions’ O-line dictating terms and keeping the game on schedule. If Detroit stays ahead of the sticks, they can control the tempo and wear the Browns down late.

Vikings @ Steelers

Pittsburgh at home is a different animal. The defense can flip this with one strip-sack or tip-drill pick, but the offense has to protect the ball and finish red-zone trips. If they keep it ugly (in a good way), the Steelers grind out a one-score win. But the Vikings are coming in hot.

Bears @ Raiders

This is a tone-setter for Vegas. After a gut-punch earlier, you want a clean, physical game: win the trenches, lean on clock control, and make Chicago chase. Take the freebies, avoid the hero ball, and let the crowd carry you over the finish line.

Eagles @ Buccaneers

This one has juice. Philly rolls in with their tush-push reputation, but Tampa’s got Baker Mayfield — and he’s playing with that scrappy, chip-on-the-shoulder fire that makes him so easy to root for. The Bucs’ defense is plenty tough, and if Baker gets cooking early, this could flip fast. Tampa has a real shot to make a statement here, and I’m all in on it.

🎯 Evie’s Picks – Week 4

  • Ravens @ Chiefs → Chiefs
Arrowhead magic plus Mahomes usually equals a win.
  • Browns @ Lions → Lions
Detroit controls the trenches and shows they’re for real.
  • Vikings @ Steelers → Steelers
Home field + defense gives Pittsburgh the edge.
  • Bears @ Raiders → Raiders
Vegas bounces back strong against a shaky Bears squad.
  • Eagles @ Buccaneers → Buccaneers
Baker keeps the fire burning at home.
  • Commanders @ Falcons → Commanders
Washington steadies itself with a road win.

✨ Final Thoughts

Week 3 reminded us that not every storyline needs a side of controversy. The games stood on their own — the Chiefs finding their footing, the Lions proving their bite against the Ravens, the Steelers battling through mistakes, and the Commanders and Raiders showing just how unpredictable the season can be. As we look to Week 4, it’s less about debates and more about results. The tush push? That’s yesterday’s news. We’re moving forward.
