🏈 NFL Week 7 Recap & Week 8 Preview: Cue the Eye Rolls and Replays 🙄
The “refs are crooked” crowd is back, the bots are arguing about QB rankings again, and the Chiefs are suddenly everyone’s least-favorite team again — which means yes, it’s officially midseason in the NFL.
Let’s roll through Week 7 before we peek ahead at what’s next.
Chiefs 31 – Raiders 0
Kansas City came to play. Mahomes silenced any “off week” chatter and reminded everyone why Arrowhead noise gives defenses nightmares. Raiders fans? They might want to pretend this one didn’t happen. Bummer about Crosby getting injured though. The Raiders have had a terrible season, and I don’t know when it starts looking up for them.
Steelers 31 – Bengals 33
Ok, I was definately cheering for the Steelers here, but I did have conflict because I just love the story of the QB redemption tour as Joe Flacco gets moved around. Same could be said for A Rod. I guess that’s what makes this such a great matchup. Loved watching the game. I love that these QBs both look like they found their forever homes. Except, what happens to Flacco when Burrow comes back?
Giants 32 – Broncos 33
A heartbreaker for Giants fans. I have absolutely jumped on the Dart Skateboo love train. I could watch these guys play all day. I’m not upset that the Broncos won, because it’s kind of great to watch their Quaterback to fantastic things also. I am upset that Dart and Skateboo didn’t get their W though.
Buccaneers 9 – Lions 24
Tough night for Baker and the Bucs, but Detroit keeps rolling. The Lions are legit — and loud about it. So I would consider myself a Lions fan first, and I would normally consider them the team to ‘fear’. But as I’ve said previously, Baker Mayfield is a gem. I love to see hime winning.
Commanders 22 – Cowboys 44
The Cowboys found their swagger again, funny how they keep losing it though. I am not a fan of the Cowboys, and I don’t really have a good reason why. They absolutely outplayed a beat up Commanders team though, and the proof is on the scoreboard.

🏈 Week 8 Preview: Midseason Mayhem, Familiar Favorites
We’re halfway through the season, and the storylines are starting to loop — the same fanbases, the same drama, and somehow even more chaos. The “refs are crooked” crowd hasn’t taken a week off, the bots are fighting about quarterback rankings again, and the Chiefs are still public enemy #1.
At this point, I’m not here for the arguments — I’m here for the vibes, the redemption arcs, and the teams that make Sundays fun (even when they shouldn’t). Let’s look ahead to Week 8.
Chiefs vs Commanders
Kansas City has that look again — the one where you know they’re about to make the rest of the league mad for simply being good. Mahomes and company are in rhythm, and that’s never good news for anyone else. The Commanders are scrappy, though, and I like that. They always give you a reason to keep watching, even when they’re outmatched.
Steelers vs Packers
The Steelers are settling into that “dangerous if you underestimate them” phase. I like that about them — they grind, no glamour, just grit. As for Aaron Rodgers and his new crew, the chemistry still feels off. Maybe they’ll figure it out… or maybe one of his own guys will accidentally take him out again. Hard to say.
Buccaneers vs Saints
I don’t have anything against the Saints, but I don’t have anything for them either. They are a we can talk about them if they are playing one of my faves, and this week they are. Mr. Baker Mayfield and company will make sure this is a game to watch.
Giants vs Eagles
I am a bandwagon Giants fan. I never gave them much thought until they let Saquon Barkley go, and seeing how he played for the Eagles last year, I questioned pretty much everthing about them. But enter Dart and Skateboo and I am here for it. The Giants have got heart, personality, and that underdog charm. I’m fully aboard the Dart & Skateboo train — win or lose, they make it worth watching. The Eagles are stacked, sure, but sometimes belief matters just as much as stats. And the only thing I like about the Eagles is Hurts himself, because I mean really, is there anybody cooler?
Broncos vs Cowboys
I was super impressed with the Broncos last year, and even though I was routing for the Giants in the last matchup, I can really only celebrate that win for the Broncos. It’ll be interesting to see how far this team can go. Also, I do not like the Cowboys. For no good reason. The smirk on Dak’s face in the spit gate footage gave me the creeps, and well, that’s that.
✨ Final Thoughts
Week 8 feels like that awkward middle chapter — not the climax, not the ending, just the part where everything important starts brewing. There’ll be upsets, overreactions, and probably another round of “fire the refs” trending by Monday. But that’s why we love it — it’s football being football.
