It was another wild one in the CFL — and while some teams looked playoff-ready, others looked like they’re already eyeing winter vacation. Week 20 brought clutch finishes, statement wins, and more than a few bruised egos. Including yours truly. I tried a turncoat move last week and I should. have. known. better.

Week 20 Roundup
BC Lions 37, Edmonton Elks 24
The Lions roared back to form this week, shaking off any mid-season jitters with a confident win over the Elks. Vernon Adams Jr. looked sharp again, the BC defense held firm when it mattered, and the Elks’ Cinderella run quietly came to an end. They’ve been scrappy, but BC reminded everyone who runs the jungle.
Calgary Stampeders 44, Toronto Argonauts 13
Remember when the Stamps were struggling to find consistency? Not anymore. Calgary absolutely rolled through Toronto — and while the Argos have had flashes of brilliance, they just couldn’t find any rhythm against a Calgary team that looks playoff mean. The Stamps are peaking at the right time, and that’s dangerous.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers 17, Saskatchewan Roughriders 16
A one-point heartbreak. The Roughriders nearly pulled it off, but the Bombers squeaked out the win in a defensive slugfest that came down to who blinked last. It’s the kind of game that stings twice — once in the standings, and once in the ego.
Montreal Alouettes 39, Ottawa Redblacks 28
The Als keep cruising. Cody Fajardo and company put up points early and often, keeping Ottawa on their heels. The Redblacks tried to rally, but Montreal just has too much firepower right now. The Als are playing with swagger — and it’s working.

Week 21 Look Ahead
Ottawa Redblacks @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats — Fri, Oct 24
The Ti-Cats are at home and tied with Montreal — motivation doesn’t get much clearer. Expect them to take care of business against a Redblacks team that’s running on fumes.
Calgary Stampeders @ Edmonton Elks — Fri, Oct 24
Rivalry game alert! The Elks would love to finish their season by playing spoiler, but Calgary’s got too much momentum right now. If they can stay locked in, the Stamps could clinch a very nice late-season push.
Montreal Alouettes @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers — Sat, Oct 25
This one’s spicy — Montreal’s offense versus Winnipeg’s defense. Both teams have plenty to prove heading into the postseason, and if the Als win, it’s another sign that the East might not be as “soft” as everyone says.
BC Lions @ Saskatchewan Roughriders — Sat, Oct 25
This might be the marquee matchup of the week. The Riders have been tough all year, but BC has every reason to believe they can steal one here. Expect fireworks, hits, and a playoff-level atmosphere.
